Abstract

Abstract. Blood availability is highly dependent on the community's willingness and awareness to donate blood voluntarily. Blood Transfusion Unit must engage in donor recruitment activities, such as endeavors to socialize voluntary blood donors, mobilize donors, and retain donors. The formation of a group of volunteer blood donors who will collaborate with Red Cross Indonesian's Voluntary Blood Donor Search and Preservation (P2D2S) officers is an endeavor to recruit potential donors. This community service seeks to empower youth groups as blood donor volunteer groups and recruit prospective blood donor volunteers. The community service activities include the formation of a volunteer blood donor group, outreach and education to juvenile organizations, and blood donation. When socialization and education are provided to blood donor volunteer groups, their understanding of the terms and benefits of blood donation increases. Participation in blood donation activities drew a great deal of community support.
