Abstract

Abstrak: Novel Coronavirus Diseases 2019 disebabkan oleh virus (SARS-CoV2) yang menyebabkan penyakit pernapasan paru. Infeksi COVID-19 yang parah dapat menyebabkan pneumonia, sindrom pernapasan akut, bahkan kematian. Kasus terkonfirmasi positif di Kab. Sleman paling tinggi terdapat di Kecamatan/Kapanewon Depok sebesar 783 orang. Penyuluhan kepada masyarakat tentang penularan COVID-19 penting untuk memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat sehingga dapat mereduksi penyebaran penularan COVID-19. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi kepada karyawan masyarakat, satpam, dan petugas kebersihan di lingkungan STIKES Wira Husada tentang penyakit COVID-19 dan pencegahan penularannya. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan melalui penyuluhan atau service learning yang bekerja sama dengan narasumber dari Satgas COVID-19 Puskesmas Depok III, Sleman, Yogyakarta. Sebanyak 11 orang telah mendapatkan penyuluhan tentang COVID-19 dan kegiatan penyuluhan berjalan dengan lancar. Kegiatan penyuluhan tentang infeksi dan pencegahan COVID-19 masih kurang dan pemahaman masyarakat tentang infeksi dan pencegahan COVID-19 masih rendah. Pelaksanaan penyuluhan diharapkan dapat dilakukan secara rutin baik oleh pihak terkait maupun institusi kesehatan.

Abstract: The 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease is caused by a virus (SARS-CoV-2) that leads to pulmonary and respiratory diseases. Severe COVID-19 infections can result in pneumonia, acute respiratory syndrome, and even death. The highest number of confirmed positive cases in Sleman Regency is in Depok District/Kapanewon, with 783 cases reported. Counseling the public about the transmission of COVID-19 is important to educate the community and reduce the spread of the virus. This community service aims to provide information to community employees, security guards, and cleaners in the STIKES Wira Husada environment about COVID-19 and its prevention methods. The implementation of this community service is conducted through counseling or service learning, in collaboration with resource persons from the COVID-19 Task Force at the Depok III Health Center, Sleman, Yogyakarta. A total of 11 people participated in the counseling session, which ran smoothly. However, counseling activities on COVID-19 infection and prevention remain insufficient, and public understanding of COVID-19 infection and prevention is still low. It is recommended that counseling sessions be conducted regularly by both related parties and health institutions.
